Galen Cassidy Peria, aka Duke Aeroplane, is a songwriter, film maker, and rabble-rouser based out of New Orleans, LA and Burlington, VT. As a founding member of Vermont Joy Parade he toured extensively in the United States and Europe throughout the early teens. The second half of the decade brought the founding of United Bakery Records, an independent record label in New Orleans. He is currently in the final stages of production on his first feature film, “The Heartbeat, The Hammer,” featuring music and performances from numerous artists associated with the United Bakery label.
His own music draws inspiration from the prodigious cannon of American roots music, heavily steeped in the piano professors of the crescent city, and commanded by a profound and literate lyric sensibility. The Gambit has called him “one of the greatest lyricists of his generation” and Shane Sayers has confirmed he is “a man who has earned the right to wear his sunglasses at night.” His appearance at The Meeting House will be a rare solo performance featuring songs old and new alongside the truths and lies that accompany them.
