"The Zookeepers are giving it back in the name of literacy. Money raised for libraries with music. The trio (and sometimes more) of musicians give a great performance, with erudite and literary songwriting. Emotive, energetic, a little existential, and always exciting."

~ Nancy Patch

"My community library had the pleasure of hosting one of the performances of David Rosane & The Zookeeper's 2018 library tour. They are the BEST! Not only did they spend all summer giving back to Vermont communities in the name of literacy and free speech, their concert in Peacham rocked. What a joy to work with such a bunch of creative, professional, and generous souls!"

~ Gillian Sewake

Join Two Great Bands - David Rosane & The Zookeepers, and The Oleo Romeos in an UNFORGETTABLE EVENING to support Fairfield & Bakersfield Libraries ~ Saturday, August 24th

For the second summer in a row, The Zookeepers are touring to benefit Vermont's rural libraries and accompany the release of their critically acclaimed "Book of ZOO," winner of this year's Tammie award for best Vermont rock album. The album features stellar musicians from across the country and local virtuosos André Maquera, Will Patton and Al Zansler.

This summer's tour "Across the ZOO-niverse: a 2019 Library Space Odyssey, rockin' out for literacy, community, and freedom of speech," sponsored by the Vermont Department of Libraries and local Vermont businesses, will celebrate this year's public library reading theme "Space: a Universe of Stories." To quote Vermont's s state librarian Jason Broughton, "Not only do the Zookeepers have a lot of fun on stage with their interactive and engaging shows, they are Music as Information."

Indeed, while drawing on a wide array of influences and genres, from jazz to psychedelic, to country pop, indie folk, punk rock and more, the trio's quasi indescribable and eclectic songbook of originals focuses on the pressing social and environmental issues of our times while reflecting David's former life as a research scientist and a book worm. Nerd rock, if you will. But with a sense of humor. Music as story-telling!

Tyrone and The Oleo Romeos will join the Zookeepers for tonight's show. Anything could happen!
